Service Description

Following the identification of diagnostic traits during Part 1 of the assessment, the adolescent ADHD assessment part 2 is the second part of a comprehensive Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) assessment to identify the diagnostic traits in young people aged 12-18. The assessment typically takes 2-3 hours and can be conducted either online or in person. To ensure appropriate support and information is provided, a parent or caregiver must attend the assessment, and there will be an opportunity to speak to both young person and caregiver/parent separately. We may also ask for permission to talk to other carers, parents, teachers or request school reports in order to gain an objective view of your child's presentation both currently, and historically. Following the clinical interview and the collection of information from other relevant persons, we will combine this information to write a formal report. This will include a formulation of difficulties, recommendations for treatment and support, and can include a letter for employers/ and or educational faculties if applicable. At every step of this assessment, we understand the importance of providing a friendly and understanding environment in which to conduct the assessment. We are here to answer any questions you may have and to provide the best care possible to help your young person reach their full potential. We understand the impact that ADHD can have on the individual, family, school and the wider community and so we will provide an understanding, collaborative approach to the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of ADHD, including using evidence-based treatments. We will also provide instruction and advice on how best to manage the disorder and its symptoms. Please be aware that we do not have the facilities to provide medical titration but can advise you to such services.
