Adolescent ASD Screening (Part 1)

Service Description

The Adolescent ASD Screening Service is designed for young people aged between 16 - 18 to assess whether they present with the traits required to meet the diagnostic requirements for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as per the ICD 11 / DSM 5. The process involves both the young person and the parent/carer completing a number of assessments in the comfort of your own home. These will then be sent back, analysed and reviewed to determine the likelihood of diagnosis. Once we have received your assessments, we will invite you to attend an appointment to discuss your results via the telephone or video call. Please ensure that you have completed your battery of assessments at least 7 days before your appointment unless you have got in touch to arrange otherwise. During the appointment, results will be discussed in an age appropriate format, the young person will be interviewed separately to their parent/carer, and then together. This screening service is designed to provide accurate and reliable results to help you make the best decisions for the young person in your care.
